One window, one view

February 18, 2013  •  2 Comments

I was watching the sky last week out of a bedroom window, a storm had just cleared, I watched and took images of it over half an hour or so. Given the restriction on my viewpoint I wanted to see what sort of images i would get over a few days. It was quite challenging, but spending the same amount of time at the window at around the same time of day, made me think quite alot about other people who have a restricted view on the world. Makes you think? All the images were shot with a Fuji X pro 1 and a zuiko 100mm f2.8 lens. The images were all shot as jpegs. The fuji produces such wonderful colour, its very accurate and shows the scene exactly as i saw it. This camera continues to suprise me everyday. So much so in fact that the Nikons are getting very dusty.

Anglesey North wales

Visited Anglesey in North Wales a couple of weeks ago, made a change to visit the coast. It was bloody freezing, with a raw wind to keep the temperature down even more. Still got some interesting images. Hope you like them. Taken with a Nikon D3 with 16-35 and the Fuji X pro 1 18mm.

High key winter images

In my last post I mentioned high key images, I like the minimalist look, and have tried to convey this further with some recent pictures taken during the heavy snows earlier this month. winter hedgerow frozen cow parsley

The snow arrives again

Snowed for several hours last night and well into the morning.  Too good an opportunity to get out and shoot some images.  Great being out in the snow it’s amazing how quiet everything becomes.  Some of my images

Frost and fog

January 10, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Early start this morning.   Idea was the sun would break through and light up the fog and the frost.  Alas not, some 3 hours later it’s still foggy. Still it was nice to get out and give the Fuji X pro 1 some work. What an amazing camera, the more I use it the less the Nikons get used.  It’s a much lighter bag to carry.  The only thing I can find fault with, is that as it’s much lighter than a D3 16-35 lens combo. Sometimes find camera shake even at relatively high shutter speeds.  With the Nikon I can get pin sharp images as stupidly low shutter speeds.  The lightness of the X pro will take some getting used to I guess. Cannot fault the image quality though.  Shot everything in mono this morning few tweaks needed on the camera settings as I felt the images were a little flat.
